History

of the International Workshop on Microwave Discharges: Fundamentals and Applications

The idea to hold of International Workshops on Microwave Discharges in the present format was first realized in 1994 when the Workshop was held in Zvenigorod (Russia). It was decided to transform it into the periodical meeting. The International Scientific Committee was elected and the Constitution of the Workshop was accepted. The Constitution defines the principles of the Workshop. Part of them is: the Workshop should be held alternatively in Russia and out of it with the period of 3 years. It was decided to begin a numbering of Workshops line from the NATO ARW (1992) with the same name.

Now the Workshop is the popular specialized conference in the field of microwave plasma physics and application where the recent achievements and urgent problems in this promising area of science and technology are discussed.
